A 3 day Crime snap shot of Columbia MD



COLUMBIA, MD CRIME — The Howard County Police Department provided the following information. about these incidents in Columbia. 

ROBBERY/ASSAULT
A man was injured in a robbery, He was parked in the 8800 block of Hayshed Land in Columbia Md. Two men assaulted and robbed  him The victim was taken to Howard County General Hospital, where he was treated for his injuries.
BURGLARY
The 8600 block of Guilford Road in Columbia Md was burglarized . The break-in occurred through the front window. 
ROBBERY
A pizza deliveryman was robbed in the 6000 block of Majors Lane in Columbia Md. The suspect demanded cash and the victim's phone. The deliveryman complied and the suspect left. 
ROBBERY
Four people robbed a man outside a condominium complex in the 9000 block of Whiteacre Road in Columbia Md. The suspects went through the man's pockets and stole cash. 
THEFT
Two people were charged with theft after allegedly stealing from Wegmans in the 8800 block of McGaw Road  in Columbia Md. 
ROBBERY/ASSAULT
A teen was assaulted and robbed outside a gas station in the 8200 block of Snowden River Parkway  in Columbia Md.  five suspects in a car approached him and asked him for a dollar. He was assaulted and robbed of cash. 
Auto Thefts
A 16-year-old was charged with auto theft after police tried to conduct a traffic stop in the 7100 block of Oakland Mills Road  in Columbia Md.  and the teen tried to get away in the vehicle, The vehicle was stolen and did not have lights on at the time of the incident, Police found the suspect and arrested the Baltimore teen.
A 2013 black Toyota Corolla in Columbia was reported stolen from the 6400 block of Dobbin Road  in Columbia Md.
A 2009 Honda in Columbia was stolen from the 5700 block of April Journey Road  in Columbia Md.  The vehicle was black and white.
All of these incidence occurred in 3 days in the Communities, Town Centers and Neighborhoods in Columbia Maryland. If you live near these areas you need to be concerned. While it can be argued that Police budget cuts and the economy are contributing to more crime, higher insurance rates and lower neighborhood property value.
